Cold working (Drilling, Grinding, Polishing, Cutting, Other …)

Cold working refers to a mechanical operation that brings to glass a final appearance that could not be obtained by molding during the manufacturing process. Its purpose is to provide glass items with a plain, smooth and glossy final surface quality.

Among these embellishments done to works seemingly already perfect, the first one that comes to mind is that which consists in removing traces of non-traditional manufacturing (such as the mark of the mold joint), by cutting or polishing. Drilling and grinding are used to refine a calibration.
